Today’s the big day, the pack is pretty tight but coming in at a reasonable 40.5 lbs.

I obviously packed way too much. From my recollection here’s my pack

  • 4 button down shirts
  • 3 pairs of pants
  • 5 pairs of shorts
  • 3 long sleeve shirts
  • 2 pairs of athletic shorts
  • 1 pair of jeans
  • 3 swimsuits
  • 5-7 t shirts
  • 2-3 tank tops
  • 10 days of underwear and socks
  • 1 rain jacket
  • 1 semi cold/weather resistant jacket
  • 1 pair of sneakers
  • 1 pair of desert boots
  • 1 pair of sperrys
  • 1 pair of flip flops

I’m working on roughly 2.5 hours of sleep, but I’m hoping to make up for that on the flight since I ‘sprung’ for business class on the big legs of my trip, and that means lie flat seats for this 14.5 hour session! 

It was great seeing family/friends in the days leading up to this departure and I look forward to sharing many of my stories along the way.
